Summer Pieces You Can Wear For Fall

Fall is just around the corner and with that comes the looming realization that it’s time to start making some new wardrobe purchases.  Yes, it’s exciting to go shopping for new trends, but don’t you feel like you’re abandoning last season’s investments or that you never got enough use out of them?  Well, feel that way no longer!  It’s all about transitioning those summer purchases into fall while still looking like you’re dressing for the right season.

Here are some easy ways you can include your summer pieces into your fall wardrobe:

Rosaria Silk Dress, $346.99 (on sale). Your sundresses and maxis:  Fall them up by wrapping in a cardigan, throwing a sweater over, pairing with a blazer, and for those extra cold days wear with tights.  Perfect to pair with your favorite fall boots and accessories, you’ll love the extra mileage you’ll get out of your summer dress purchases.

AE Faded Western Chambray Shirt, $39.95. Chambray shirts: Pair with your fave fall skirts, layer under sweaters and blazers, rock with wool trousers – they add a sophisticated casual appeal to any outfit and instantly brighten them up.  Also adds some great texture contrast to any fabric.

Steve Madden Jupetir, $86.98 (on sale). Your heeled sandals:  Yes, your fave sandals don’t have to see the back of your closet just yet.  Rock them out for as long as you can like you would during the summer, but remember they’re still wearable when the weather gets cold.  Rock a cute pair of socks with them or a fabulous pair of tights.  Now I know the whole sock + sandal thing = fashion wreckage, but not in this case!  The look is a little quirky, yet cute and modern.

Soft Joie Dillion Tank, $54.60 (on sale). Your favorite summer sleeveless tops:  Just because it’s cold out doesn’t mean you can’t rock your favorite sleeveless shirts from summer.  Layer under your sweaters and blazers, or why not twist it up a bit and rock over those sweaters or long sleeved shirts.  It creates a play on proportion and adds something new to your look.

J Brand Denim Mid-Rise Twill Skinny Jeans, $175. Your pastels, your floral prints, your neon:  just because summer is over doesn’t mean you can’t still rock your trendy colors into fall.  Pair your pastel denim with cozy sweaters (why not try mixing your mint jeans with a rich burgundy hue), mix your florals with falls new prints and colors, and why not add some flair to your fall look with a hint of a bold neon accessory?

Remember, those new fall trends are meant to guide you, not to overwhelm you and you don’t have to partake in every single one.  So invest in a few that you really love and try mixing last season’s looks into your fall wardrobe.  You’ll save money while looking stylish.  And take some risks – you never know what mixing and matching will turn out to be a fab, fave look for the season!

Xoxo.
