ANM Beauty Review: L’Oreal Paris Youth Code Collection

I was extremely delighted one evening when I came home to a package containing the new L’Oreal Paris Youth Code collection. Getting free beauty products to try is always exciting but this arrival was even more fortuitous because I was at a point where I was increasingly frustrated by the expensive high-end skincare products I was relying on.

I was being as diligent as ever with my routine but they just weren’t working in the same way. My skin felt dry no matter how much moisturizer I slathered on and I was noticing several other unsettling changes. I had always heard that it all goes downhill after 25 (thanks mom!) and as I move further and further past the quarter century mark, I’ve discovered that this crude cautionary scare tactic has a lot of truth to it. I was seeing fine lines under my eyes, and the faint forming of parentheses around my mouth and visible pores! Some said I was being crazy, but that is just what you’re supposed to say to make someone feel better about the inevitable.

But I digress. So immediately after opening the box I reached for the day/night cream, applied just a touch to my face and watched as my skin instantly turned to velvet. Right then and there I knew I was onto something. I never cut myself off from all products to the exclusion of one, it’s just too hard as a beauty writer with so many amazing new products coming your way all the time. However, I was really curious to see how much of  an improvement these products alone would produce. It’s all in the name of research!

Read on for the results

The L’Oreal Paris Youth Code collection includes: Serum Intense ($24.99), which works to immediately restore luminosity and hydrate; Day Lotion SPF 30 , a lightweight, emollient-rich formula that provides UVA and UVB sun protection; Day/Night Cream, a luxurious cream that deeply hydrates and moisturizes the skin for an instantly silky appearance; Eye Cream infused with moisturizing honey, caffeine to reduce puffiness and light-diffusing micro-pearls to illuminate the eye area.

I’ve been using these products exclusively for about two months and the results are staggering. First, my skin never adjusted to the formulas and they work as well now as they did in the beginning. Here are a few other significant improvements I’ve noticed: My pores vanished, my skin is literally silk, the half moons that once seemed tattooed beneath my eyes have faded significantly and are erased completely with a quick swipe of concealer, the forming parentheses around my mouth have diminished as did the fine lines around my eyes. The most noticeable change, however, is that my complexion looks clear, radiant and positively glowing. I also love the fact that I see an results instantly, no waiting 4-6 weeks to see a slight change!

Good skincare products are like good jeans, hard to find and insane to let go of once you do! I have tried a LOT of different products in my day, and haven’t written about most of them (much to the chagrin of some PR reps I’m sure) because I would never tell you to buy or try something if I didn’t feel it was worth it. So for those of you feeling frustrated and downright blue about the havoc Father Time is causing on the beautiful features Mother Nature bestowed upon you, I highly recommend giving these amazing (and affordable!) products a try!

Ive been meaning to pick up one of these but I was a little skeptical plus still working on some products that I need to finish.
