Don’t ditch your mates and a fun time for a guy who disappeared for a week and tried to make last minute plans. Coffee another day, one that he’s locked in detailed plans for where and when, sounds fine.
And don’t show up for your first date tipsy after already drinking. I once had a guy try to do this for a second date, and he was soooo sloppy he couldn’t even make it the whole way. We even had definite scheduled plans, it wasn’t last minute, but he went out drinking with coworkers first for some reason. That was the end of it right there. So unattractive.
