Is it too late?

We met online and dated for three months. We hadn’t labelled the relationship yet, but had a great time going on weekly dates, daily texts, phone calls and sex was involved. I got nervous of being hurt again after a bad breakup (he also had come out of a breakup), and so we agreed it would be best to be friends for now due to both of us coming out of recent relationships and working on ourselves post breakups etc.

The thing is, after being apart and not in contact I’ve realised that I miss him. And I actually care for him a lot more than I thought. Guess you could say I have some feelings. I don’t know if this is a lost cause. But I don’t want my fear to ruin something with the potential to be great.

My question is, is it ever too late to tell someone how you truly feel about them?
It’s been just over a week of not speaking to each other.
