Drinks or Nah
I just wanted to know what it means when a guy asks you out for drinks versus asking you out for dinner?
I met this man on tinder and we have yet to meet. Ya, I know, Tinder is meant to be hook up only, but I have actually been out on dates with men there that have taken me on nice dates, no sex involved.
Does this basically mean he just wants to get me “drunk” or am I reading way into this and this is just a casual thing that people in there 20’s do?

Going for drinks is easy & casual – first steps. What happens if you don’t like him & you’re stuck having dinner with a schlub?

Typically what happens, in my case, drinks extend into dinner :)

It means he knows dinner is a bad first date. Period.

it could go either way but this one guy I went out with ONLY asked me to go for drinks with him & it became obvious what his motive was lol. the first date I didn’t think anything of it but he KEPT asking me to the bar & after awhile he made inappropriate comments & you could tell his mission was strictly hoping to score so I say the first time is fine but if he doesn’t ask you to dinner or something more date-like then he likely wants to get you drunk

Asking a woman to meet for drinks is the same as a coffee but with a different atmosphere..more relaxed.
The next date should be something else though – and he should pick you up – plan the date – pay and bring you home safely. That is a date.
