Hey
So my boyfriend has said we are done because I have to work on valentines day. I tried to get the day off but i couldn’t so I told him we could do something when I finished at 5pm but he went mad saying he’s gonna do things without me and that we are done because I’d rather be at work then with him. He was quite abusive over text swearing at me…its out of my control I don’t know what else to do…I mean it’s on a weds doesnt everybody work on that day and do things after he hadn’t even planned anything for us!

This seems like it’s missing a lot of context. Is he often abusive in your relationship? Is he normally not abusive but is angry with you about something else and Valentine’s Day evening was his final straw? Is he cheating or otherwise looking for an excuse to bail? Does he have an addiction problem or mental health issue that makes him erratic?

You may have dodged a bullet here. We may be missing context but just from what you posted… the behavior is unacceptable and I would not feel comfortable in a relationship moving forward if this is the type of thing he does if he doesn’t get his way. And yes, work is more important than a man especially when it pays your bills.

His behavior is very dramatic. Most people go out to dinner after th ey get off work.
If he’s being abusive be glad things are over. Call up your girlfriends and go out tomorrow night!
