Guy says this is not his teal name

I started messaging a guy I met in a chat room. We are emailing only at this point as I don’t want to give out my # too soon.

I am concerned that he said “buddy is not my real name”. Then he signed his name as Tom. I’m confused as to why he won’t give his first real name.

Also his emails are paragraphs long, describing his hobbies and asking me some deep questions like “whats the one thing you would like to do in your life right now?
No sex talk at all.

He’s very chatty but the long emails make me feel like I have to take an hour just to reply to everything.

Also the name thing is weird. Would any of you drop this guy?

I find nothing odd about someone not using their real name in a chat room, no differently than we do on this site as we don’t use our real names here either.

Regardless, what are you wanting out of this? If its a pen pal then you appear to have one. Was this a sex chat room because I find it odd you’re focused on sex and don’t appear to be interested in getting to know each other. Do you know where he lives? If its far away and you are bored with this dude then just kindly tell him you were looking for some hot sex emails so you can at least have something interesting to talk about :o) Easy Peasy
