What should one do if they have been talking and hanging out with someone for a while now and they have feelings for you but they’ve been through a lot and are hurt so end up just pushing you away? How do you get someone who’s scared to open up to open up. I really care for this person but it seems like no matter how many times I try to prove it, they don’t believe me and we’re just stuck. I wanna help him get through it because I can see how unhappy he is with his life. It’s very complicated, it’s a bunch of family, friends, work stuff.

Honestly, its not your job to get anyone through anything.
Many women like to fix people and that never works out in the end.
If he is not ready to date and needs to work through his issues, let him.
Go find yourself someone who is ready and open to love. We can’t make anyone see how good we are for them, etc…
Again someone else can see the wonderful things in us.
My question you is why do you even want someone who is pushing you away?

totally agree with Khadija!! If this man is not emotionally ready to date because he’s been hurt, he’s unhappy, it’s complicated, he has issues with family work, etc. then let him work out his issues! Why do you want a man with so much baggage and issues anyway? If he is pushing you away then walk away and move on with your life. You aren’t in a relationship you’re just talking and hanging out. Find a man who is healthy and ready to date!! Learn to weed out the losers.

Please go to therapy and learn why you are so codependent. Healthy people find this stuff gross, not ‘why won’t he let me love him’???

you do nothing but walk away…. honestly, why do women want to fix men that they didn’t break?
you will waste so much time and energy on this person and once he is fixed he will leave you in the dust, men do not like to date their “therapists”
