One of my guy friends is always super nice to me and protective. Other people have noticed how we are together and make comments about us being a couple. When we drink we get super flirty and a week ago he got drunk and held my hand while telling me how strong and amazing I am and that if I ever need anything at all he’ll be there. He told me if I want to talk to him to just talk to him and not be scared. He also told me he could tell by my hand grip that I was scared. When we sobered up he said he doesn’t remember much and got a bit distant. We texted for three hours but when I asked him to get drinks he stopped replying. He does this often. What’s his deal? Why can we only be close when he’s drunk?

Red flag alert!!!!! Stay away from this man. He is showing you early and often he is not capable of being in something healthy and loving with you. Please do not read what his behavior is any other way.

Why is he like this? Who knows, but if you want the real deal, look elsewhere than banging your head on this wall. Please!

No he is not afraid to confess how he feels. What a bunch of malarkey. We know nothing about this dude. And honestly, it does not matter. He is neither acting nor saying he wants to show up for real, which means he does not matter. Period.
