I’ve been in a relationship with my “unofficial” fiance for three years now. We want to get married, but he hasn’t made it official with his family yet, even though we live together and spend a lot of time at his family home.

He’s studying to be a specialist doctor, and he wants to move to the UK to pursue this. We currently live in India. I’m not sure what to do here, I have tried to discuss getting married and going with him, but he’s apprehensive about it because at the moment he doesn’t have a job.

He says he wants to provide for me and take care of me, but the truth is I don’t need any financial assistance from him, I need him to be there emotionally and physically. While I’m sure he will continue to be there emotionally, I’m skeptical about not having his physical presence in my life for a few months/years. I’ve been in long-distance relationships before, two to be precise, and they both ended badly for me. I know he’s nothing like my exes, but I still have fears that this could also be a mistake.

I’m worried about what happens from here. I want to go with him, but I’m not sure if that’s the best thing. Please advise.

Hello! I think you should listen to your heart and do what’s the best for your own soul, it’s not true love if he didn’t ask you to come with him,I think you should have a serios talk with him and ask about when he îs gonna tell his parents about you, when he îs going to marry you, of he has serious intentions with you, if he doesn’t say anything that means you should leave him and let him go, in 3 years he should have already proposed and married you, my husband proposed to me and made it oficial to his family after 2 weeks of dating and we are very happy. Wish you good luck, and I’ m sure you’ll find someone perfect and better, Take care of yourself and always listen to your soul and heart.
