So, my boyfriend and I met over the summer, because he was visiting family in my hometown. We’re both seniors in high school, but decided we want our relationship to be serious because neither of us is the “flaky” type, so we’re in a long-distance relationship, and have been for the past month (since he went home). He lives about five hours away, and although things have been going pretty well: we text, and call and FaceTime when we can, I wondered if anyone had any advice for making sure I do my part in keeping it going well. This guy is really nice, and means a lot to me, especially because I went through a pretty bad break-up a few months before I met him, and he’s been very understanding of the emotional scars that has left me with. I’d really appreciate some advice, so if anyone has thoughts on good practices for being in an LDR, please share!

The only advice I have is not to do sexual things via media. Be ladylike. Good luck. Talk on the phone more than you text so as not to have misunderstandings.

And don’t push his boundaries by asking if hes seeing others. Sounds like he really likes you.

Thanks! We unfortunately haven’t been able to call much because we both have multiple extra-curriculars, and I don’t want to be pushy or needy by always being the one to reach out to schedule a phone call, but I will try. Really appreciate the advice.
