Went on a (first) date with a girl – she turned out to be really cool and the date itself went well. The catch is that I had to move to another city for an extended job stint only a couple of days later. We’ve been texting a lot back and forth and she’s very responsive.

Since I’ve never been in a long distance thing, so it’d be nice to hear from folks who have experience in this. What can/should I do from my end to take this thing forward without coming across that I just want to be friends? I’m not at all looking for a “sure” way to get into an LDR with her, just some tips on how one should proceed in such a situation. Thanks in advance!

Well, I have some experience in an LDR, but I think your issue is similar in a relationship that’s not long distance. Just tell her, talk to her, ask her if she’d be interested to meet up, skype or whatever. Just show interest (whenever) and see how it goes. Don’t forget that you also still have to get to know her, so you need to both invest. You can show interest in wanting to invest in that, by initiatives and see if she does that too. Then you’ll have the chance via various ways to get to know her better and see if that works and if it’s something you’re willing to proceed in further.

You decided to go on a date knowing you were moving in a few days?
