How to end things with him?

Hello,

Ever since lockdown happened, me and my boyfriend of 6 months have not seen each other for 3 months now. We live about 40 minutes away from each other. This lockdown really allowed me to think deeply about our relationship and to be honest, I’ve always had doubts. I think we’re just too different for each other and I knew that from the start.

I think I was just hung up on the last guy I dated and wanted someone there. My bf is very amazing but we are not right for each other. How do I end things with him? I really don’t want to , like I honestly feel like I couldn’t physically break up with him because that would devastate me too. But at the same time, this is something I have to do.

Any advice?

I am not trying to be unkind but – put on your big girl panties, call him. tell him you have been doing a lot of reflecting and you feel you know in your heart you cannot continue with him. He deserves to know. This is being an adult and a healthy partner. Have a glass of wine. Say a prayer. Whatever helps. But always do the right thing as fast as you’re possibly able.
