So I started dating this guy. There’s something I like about him but don’t like his preference for communication. I feel it’s suspect, borderline shady. I mentioned this weekend to him that I feel if he’s truly interested his primary form of communication shouldn’t be via text. I said I find it to be impersonal. He says he’ll work to get better at it. He called today and we spoke briefly and he said he’s going to text me throughout the evening if I don’t mind.

I get that is is a new day in age but does anyone else find this odd?

Because he can text multiple women at one time instead of focusing on a phone call with you.

You are likely one of several women he’s texting. Especially if he doesn’t set up dates. He only called to mollify you.

Sorry but he wants a penpal, not anything real.

He does set up dates but he’s so touchy all the time. I think you are right. He’s not looking for anything real…so annoying. So any suggestions on how to end it?

    What is there to end?

Personally, I hate talking on the phone. And a lot of my friends are the same. I’d rather have meaningful conversations in person anyway.

How to end it? ‘I don’t think we’re a match but good luck out there and goodbye.’ Simple.

How long have you been seeing him ? I can’t always be bothered talking on the phone tbh. It’s just a preference sometimes. Not the end of the world. If I am busy it’s much easier to text and at work I am not supposed to be talking in the phone either. If there’s more things that are bothering. You then so be it but I wouldn’t finish on this basis alone.
