I was supposed to meet someone for a date. Three hours earlier I had a text saying that he can’t come over because of a flat tire and he has to ride on a donut!
Then I tried to call him and he said let me see if I can get a service on my car. So, that was the last time I’ve heard from him. We were supposed to meet in one hour. So, I guess he won’t call me then.
How do I know if he’s telling the truth?

Did he try to reschedule when you two talked?
    If no, let him go-

You’ll know by his lack of contact within 24 hours of this ‘flat’
Don’t contact him, and if you hear nothing then let it go

Agree with the above. If he really did have a flat tire, he’ll apologize immediately and quickly reschedule the date. If he hasn’t done that by the next day, then he isn’t serious about seeing you.

is it an online thing and he disappeared on you when you were supposed to meet? don’t bother. this is not so uncommon. I met someone online some months back. the conversation flowed and things were comfy. in my case he messaged two hours before meeting to let me know his friend met with an accident and so he will have to cancel. it happened again for the next scheduled meeting. I then blocked him. they just waste your time and are not really serious about actual meeting. they could be married or who knows? don’t bother.

Yeah Tammy is right. It’s not uncommon at all. When I was online dating before I met my current boyfriend, I had a similar experience where I really clicked with a particular guy, and we agreed to meet. At the last minute “something” came up (I forget what his excuse was, something urgent with his kids maybe) and I was gracious about it and told him it was fine. I told him to let me know when he wants to reschedule. He never replied and I never heard from him again.

Plenty of guys chat and flirt on dating apps/sites and never intend to meet. Maybe they’re married, maybe they’re not ready to actually date, who knows. So don’t waste energy worrying about it.

Embarrassing to admit this, but I’ve used the “I’ve got a flat tire” line to my boss once when I overslept my alarm!

So, yeah. Sounds like an excuse to me. Sorry.
