A Worthy Investment: A New Bag for the New Year and New You

Handbags are very personal items for women. It does more than just hold our belongings. It’s a symbol of identity, status and style so it’s important you find something that accurately reflects who you are. Why else do women spend a small fortune on an accessory?

To ring in the new decade, treat yourself to a fabulous new piece of arm candy. Pick something that conveys who you want to be in 2010. Aiming to be a better multi-tasker? There’s a convertible bag out there with your name on it. Trying to toughen up? Think hardware. Need motivation to use that gym membership? A chic new nylon tote should do the trick. Dying for a promotion at work? A gorgeous structured bag screams power and “I’m so on top of it!”

And for you high-achieving gals who want it all, there’s only one way…get all these bags!

Givenchy Studded Nylon Small Sacca, $1,037. When you’re partial to black handbags, choose one with eye-catching details. This one’s got enough attitude to last you awhile.

Kate Spade Watch Hill Lilia Tote
, $395. I am in love with this Breton-esque bag. C’est chic, non?

Alexander Wang Coco Duffel
, $850. This bag is just as cool as the designer’s ready-to-wear line. Snatch up this exclusive, stat!

Fendi Peekaboo Satchel

Botkier Tao Leather Messenger Bag
, $425. Super fun and adds some sparkle to the new year.

Coach Peyton Drawstring Crossbody Bag, $258. I can’t get enough of drawstring bags and the coral color is a welcome departure from neutrals.

Big Buddha Lara Hobo
, $90. You’ll get so much mileage from this convertible satchel, guaranteed to be your go-to bag.

Already done for me :) WeSC’s Trish bag in blue iris. Been wanting this bag for at least a year, but it fits 2010 nicely so far.

I love them all…and the Urban bag holds up amongst the higher end bags as well. That said, the Givenchy bag would be worth it if it was leather and not nylon.
