You know something has taken hold of the fashion world when you’re seeing it EVERYWHERE. It started on the runways, and now we’re seeing zippered accents all over the place- from streets to subways to red carpets, proving that zippers aren’t only functional, they’re seriously fashionable as well!
Zippers have made their way from fly’s, to being exposed on handbags, sandals, headbands, pants, shirts, dresses (like the amazing 3.1 Phillip Lim style seen on Kate Bosworth) and then some.
It’s a tricky trend and sort of hard to find on foot, so grab the nearest laptop and credit card and shop away at the online stores that carry the must have zipper pieces of the season. I have provided a handful of accessories and clothes that will have you zipping through the tabs on your browser to purchase.
Check out my top picks after the jump, happy shopping!
Jack Rabbit Zipper Bracelet, $69: The gold and white combination have always been a favorite of mine. I love the gold exposed zipper and the easy snap closure.
MCQ Alexander McQueen Zig Zag Zipper Sweater, $428: Feeling sexy? Just unzip a little. The zig zag and zip up are a great combination.
Francesco Biasia Matilda Bag, $1,289: Yes, pricey. I know, but I couldn’t resist. The two zipper pulls and purple detail have me in love!
Alexander Wang Zipper Pants, $375; NOW: $225: White jeans was such a must for summer. I do love myself a good pair of white pants (I just picked up a pair that I’ve been living in); especially if there is hardware involved.
Urban Outfitters Zipper Flower Necklace, $68. Wear necklace with just about anything for a fabulous fashion-forward edge.
Loeffler Randall Zipper Bandeau Bikini, $205: Aside from the zipper detail, I love a bathing suit that doubles as halter and bandeau. You’re almost getting double for your money. I am also a huge fan of the high waist.
LNA Zipper Leggings, $99: Purple is the new black and these fantastic leggings would look killer with long tunic (something on the subtle side), or even a sexy micro-mini.
Zipper Flower Headband, $24: I love myself a headband especially on my dry shampoo days. But the zipper detail gives it that extra pop.
Matt Bernson Swain Sandals, $189.00: These vintage-y brown leather sandals would look great paired with white jeans, cut off shorts, or a flowing summer dress.
Converse Chuck Taylor Multi-Zip, was $49 now $29.40: I probably own an estimated 10 pair of Converse sneakers. High tops, low tops, painted, studded, and now zippers! And with summer around the corner, you won’t cover your zippers with long pants. These would look great with shorts or mini denim skirt.
