Get the Perfect Summer Look

Summer’s nearly here. Your calendar will be filling up with important dates that all require an outfit. Whether you’re heading to a day at the races, enjoying summer days out with the girls, or you’ve got a couple of weddings on the horizon, it’s time to start giving the all important outfit some thought.

To stay up in the style stakes this year, it’s all about bright block colors, floral designs and bold eye-catching prints. But you can’t just get it right with one piece, it’s all about coordinating that whole outfit.

Day at the races

Ladies’ Day may be the big one for many of us. But even if you’re not lucky enough to be strutting your style at Aintree this year, there’s still plenty of opportunity to look fab track side this summer. Maxi dresses are our favorite for the races this year. A floral number will always go down well, as will prints. You’ve probably seen the loudest of prints everywhere already this spring, but for the races try and tone it down a little. Think a little more subtle and chic than anything too dazzling for race day.

Not all race meetings are the formal events they used to be, allowing you to dress more comfortably and casually than you used to. Instead of the strappy heals, why not opt for some ladies sandals? Not only will they give your feet a rest you’ll feel a spring in your step when trotting across the grass, rather than having to deal with a sinking heal.

Lunch out with the girls

What your wear is always going to be dependent upon the location. We’re thinking something a little casual eating al fresco by a lake or outside your favorite restaurant, if the weather’s good (which we hope it is).

A big trend for this summer is flowing fabrics, so think casual comfy tunics, blouses or layered tops. Match with some jeans or chinos for a relaxed combo.

Some time away

All aspects of your holiday need to be planned. With nothing more important than a selection of outfits for a number of different activities. If you’re heading off on a cruise this year, you’ll be right on trend in some chic and stylish nautical wear. Think red and white, or blue and white stripes. Deck shoes and nautical accessories to compete the look.

For any time spent on a cruise, you’ll also need a variety of evening wear separates and a couple of stunning dresses for those formal evenings on deck.
