Whether she’s decked out in gorgeous designer duds or dressed down to run errands, Rachel Bilson’s innate knack for style always shines through. For this ‘Celebrity Inspiration’ edition, I’m focusing on her daytime-style which is always practical, wearable, and totally mode. The one aspect of her personal style that I am consistently impressed by is her ability to infuse even the most basic pieces with a fashion-forward flair. Rachel has a strong affinity for investing in high-quality key-items- be it, bags, shoes, and so on- and using them to enliven basic jeans-and-tee looks and she is the master of mixing and matching, paring different silhouettes and styles and balancing the bold with the basic.
Read on for items to help you replicate the fabulous looks pictured above.
LOOK 1: This look is the one that sparked my investigation into Rachel’s daytime style. Here, Rachel gave closet staples such as back leggings and a basic (by Brian Reyes), a modern spin by teaming them with bolder pieces such as a black asymmetrical vest, knee-high-boots, and a can’t-miss red Miu Miu bag.

LOOK 3:
Once again, Rachel took a basic ensemble- white Brian Reyes Tee, skinny jeans, black cardigan, and ballet flats- to the next level with a fabulous bag by Chloe. This look is definitely the easiest to replicate because all of the ingredients are probably already hanging in your closet. The bag is really the message-sender here- you can go for something structured at sophisticated like Rachel for a more polished vibe, a bright and bold bag for a more playful look, something subdued for a quietly chic style, and so on.
