I Scream for Eye Cream post image

I Scream for Eye Cream

I may be young but I still have an intense fear of crow’s feet. Sunglasses are constantly plastered to my face, and well, I’ve tried every conceivable eye cream I can get my hands on. It’s a well-known fact you do the most damage to your skin in your teens and 20s, so why not start with the anti-aging eye creams now?

Here are some picks for favorites. But as you also know, everyone’s skin is different so be sure to include your lucky finds in the comments below!

Boots No. 7 Lifting & Firming Eye Cream, $16
This British brand just moved stateside last year, and thank goodness! This eye cream is one of the most affordable for its quality, a regular drug store brand doing department store repairs. Not only is this hydrating and firming to the nth degree, but it promises results in 4 weeks. After 4 weeks, I could see a marked improvement. Enough said.

Clinique All About Eyes, $30
For a department store brand, this is relatively affordable. It gives you a ton of moisture, so when you wake up your eyes feel refreshed — no crusty gunk here. It’s pro at decreasing puffiness and darkness, assuming you get a decent amount of shut eye, plus you can wear it during the day to help hold eye makeup in place. The light gel doesn’t leave you weighed down in the heat of summer, a definite selling point for the upcoming months. sephora

Wei East Chestnut Refirming Eye Treatment, $26
Hands down, this is my favorite value eye cream. With its medium texture, clean coating and fantastic morning wake-up feeling, this gets my vote as the best. I’ve been using it for more than a year, and while I can’t tell how many wrinkles I’ve prevented, I know it feels like I have. Chinese chestnut is fused with wild honey to create this miracle in a tube that helps firm and lift sagging in all things eyes. Plus it won the Working Mother Beauty Award, so whether you’re a mom or not (I’m sure not), you know someone’s really paying attention to its benefits.

Chanel Rectifiance Intense Eye, $75
Saying this feels like pearls against your skin is an understatement. Balancing texture with weight, this restructuring cream helps smooth lines around the eyes, the selling point that I found particularly successful in the under-eye area. The cream features a micro-protein complex that helps maintain skin elasticity and firmness as well as tons of ingredients that rehydrate the skin. Of all the creams tested, this Chanel treatment felt the best on my skin the mornings and as far as smoothing lines, there was improvement. It didn’t, however, do much for the dark circles. I suppose those that use Chanel get a full night’s sleep.

oh, I’m with you on the fear of crow’s feet. But, I don’t see that same fear in the millions of women that go the tanning salon every day. I mean c’mon, or maybe I’m missing something. Doesn’t that artificial light damage your skin just like the real sun?
