I had a boyfriend of 2 years. We lived together although he worked away (only 1.5 hrs and had a second place there) 6 days a week and would come home on the evening weekend. He came home and said he was unhappy and that he was no longer happy in our relationship. He states he wants to be happy again and be alone. We did argue but it was mainly that he wanted to spend time at home and I didn’t in our time together. I miss him so much, I want him back. I have written letters, gave sentimental gifts, been patient, I had to move out, I don’t know what else to do. Going forward do I go into no contact. Do I ignore him if he reaches out? I am so sad everyday and it’s been 2 months.

general rule is to go 30 days with no contact, it has been 2 months and he is not wanting to get back together so chances are he never will.
I don’t understand why was he living away for 6 days , this is a very strange set up , I would worry that he has someone else there, but that’s just my anxiety.

He worked 6 days a week and driving 1.5 hour home every night then driving that in the morning wasn’t feasible. He gets living out allowance working there. I lived in his house where we live and he rents with 3 other guys where he works.. so he would come home on Saturday evening and get Sunday off then back to work Monday-Saturday 6 days a week

That’s not sustainable, Jane. No idea how you two lasted as long as you did. If he didn’t meet someone else, he’s probably just sick of this situation. Not sure how you’re not sick of this situation. You had very little time together.

2 years of this ? how did you cope? I don’t understand why he couldn’t get a job somewhere nearer or even move near where he works?
I wouldn’t even call it living together , he was just there for the weekend, probably friday night and saturday night, assuming he was leaving sunday morning. don’t get me wrong I know a lot of men do that for example in military but there is an end to it eventually as in they either move closer to home or their partner is moving with them.
Was it like that from the beginning ? how did you guys date?
