A Worthy Investment: Wardrobe-Transforming Accessories

Accessories make the outfit. How many times have you heard that one? Well, learn it and make it your fashion M.O. this season. When you can’t splurge on a new wardrobe every season (and who can these days?), the right accessories can freshen up your look and stretch your closet.

So shake things up. If you live in your flat riding boots, try a suede over-the-knee boot. Trade in your usual black tights for a bright or patterned pair. I’m loving jewel tones to punch up basic black or a demure Swiss dot pattern to accent your finest party-wear. And you should know my theory on jewelry by now…it wakes up any tired look!

Any of these seemingly small additions will instantly revamp your look in a big way. The point is this: people are more likely to remember a fantastic bib necklace or cage platform than another little black dress.

Read on to see my favorite wardrobe-transforming accessories!

Dolce Vita Suede Over-the-Knee Boot, $176. This of-the-moment boot will kick it up a notch. Wear it with a sweater dress and sheer tights.

Emilio Cavallini Peek A Boo Tights, $38. Imagine these beautiful tights under a no-frills pencil skirt.

By Malene Birger Multi-Strand Chain and Bead Necklace
, $240. I love this low-key necklace that still makes a statement.

Elie Tahari Lucille Flat, $302. Jeweled flats are like jewelry for your feet and who couldn’t use more bling?

Vera Wang Wide Elastic Belt, $195. This sophisticated number will be so chic over any dresses in your closet.

Adrienne Landau Raccoon Fur Loop, $122. A little fur (faux or otherwise) injects glamour to everything from jeans to suits.

House of Harlow 1960 Peacock cuff, $185. Show your true feathers with this stunning piece.

Essie Nail Color in California Coral, $8. Okay, so not technically an accessory, but a quick polish will help beat the winter doldrums. Choose the brightest hue you can!

Thanks for the honest feedback, I will definitely work on it. However, our “Worthy Investment” stories usually do have pricier items, our other posts are definitely a little more balanced.

I would love this site so much more if you presented affordable options in addition to the high end ones.
