I think you need the right body type, or the silhouette will get lost. It looks great on models because they have little to no curves so the slightest puff is noticeable, not sure how it will translate onto us humans

I try to stay away from immense shoulder exaggeration. I mean, Look how awful ms Olson looks. While very few people can pull it off, I think the only people that don’t look squat with broad shoulder accentuation is any chick from the Aeon Flux universe. You can have a little girlie fluff there… but don’t go insane, you’ll look back and regret it.

Totally agree – the idea of a fashion that makes women look like men makes me feel sick to my stomach. It’s as bad as a guy wearing capri pants.

it just reminds me of the 80’s when they did it so women in the workplace would look more like men.

I personally prefer soft shoulders.

This look is for you if:
a) You enjoy looking like a robot.
b) You aspire to look like you are from outer space.
c) You enjoy trends that are utterly unflattering.

Look at Mary Kate. Look at her!! She looks like she’s wearing a men’s black blazer backwards!!! She thinks she’s a member of Kriss Kross apparently.

And look at Rihanna! Oh the horror! She already looks enough like an alien, she doesn’t need a Scifi-inspired top to seal the deal. It’s like Snow White meets Star Wars.

Totally and completely LOATHE this look. If you are wearing big shoulders as you are reading this, do us all a favor: Get back into your DeLorean and drive off a cliff.
