Celeb Style Inspiration: Blake Lively

Blake Lively has come a long way from those not so stylish, all-powerful traveling jeans from her Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants days. The thin leggy blond has made quite the name for herself not only in the TV and movie industries, but in the fashion world, hanging with the likes of Anna Wintour and Karl Lagerfeld. Even men love Blake, recognizing her in AskMen.com’s ranking as 2011’s most desirable woman. Blake has truly become the new “it” girl.

Marked by a style that can at once be described as sexy, bold, chic, and fashion forward, the main thing, which, more than anything, sets Blake apart is her ability to dress for her body. When Blake dresses up, she is all about the mantra “if you got em, flaunt em.” Blessed with long legs and big boobs (or perhaps blessed with a great plastic surgeon), Blake knows exactly what to wear to make her body look good. In fact, it is hard to find Blake in an outfit that doesn’t play up at least one of these body parts.

Blake’s style is all about balancing what is fashionable while flattering her figure. Even though Blake is tall and thin, you do not see her in every runway trend. The lesson learned is to know what looks good on your body and adapt the trends from there!

Check below for Blake Lively Spring 2011 inspired finds and tips on how to make them work for you!

LOOK 1: Neutrals. Spring 2011 was all about the neutrals and at a luncheon for her movie The Town, Blake worked the nude trend wearing a Prabal Gurung dress, L’Agence Foil Blazer and Christian Louboutin Ostrich Bibi 140 Pumps. This outfit could also work great for those petite girls out there! The golden rule for dressing for a petite frame is to show more skin, and this dress does just that falling way above her knees. Nude heels are also great for the petite frame, giving the illusion that your legs are longer than they actually are.

Alice + Olivia Tina Seamed Cutout Dress, $297

TopShop Camel Ottoman Texture Bodycon Skirt, $50

House of Harlow 1960 Pearl Pumps, $225

Burberry Mesh Stiletto Sandal
, $650.

LOOK 2: Feminine Details: Feminine details such as lace, sheer, and ruffles were big on the Spring runway. At the Vertu Smartphone launch party in NY, Blake was tough yet girly with this cropped biker leather jacket paired with the adorable Christian Dior hot pink ruffle dress, Christian Christian Louboutin Fastissima velour booties, and black shimmering Lorraine Schwartz earrings.. No curves? No problem with a ruffled dress! Ruffles create the illusion of curves transforming a more boyish frame into a more curvy one.

Rebecca Taylor Dancing Dress, $325

RED Valentino Tiered Ruffle Dress, $1,050.

LOOK 3: Trench Coat Revisited: On the Spring 2011 runways many designers did a twist on the classic trench coat. On the set of Gossip Girl, Blake wore a Burberry Posum Trench with a Stole, Mulberry Bayswater leather bag, and Christian Louboutin Ostrich Bibi 140 Pumps. For all you hourglass shaped ladies out there—a belted trench coat is the perfect way to show off those teeny waists and to emphasize those curves!
