Best Boots for Bad Weather

We’ve been pretty lucky this year when it comes to our winter, but there are still the occasional snow storms and I’m sure we’ve got plenty more on the way before those warm wonderful days of spring.  My biggest concern during the winter is finding great boots that will look fab while keeping my feet dry and warm.  Whether you walk to work, you brush off your car in the a.m., or you rarely step outside when the white stuff is on the ground, a great boot for any snowy occasion is necessary to any girl’s wardrobe.

Here are 10 (+ 1 just had to add!) styles to get you through the rest of winter.
Sergio Rossi Rain & Cold Weather Boots, $350. If you’re a girl who can’t part with her heels, even in the snow, then this is the pair for you.  The wedge gives you comfort and stability and the rubber material will keep your feet nice and dry.  Pair these with everything from your jeans to your favorite wear-to-work dress because this super stylish, super sophisticated boot will look great with anything.  And the best part is that these are wedges that you can wear around all day because they are as equally fashionable as they are functional.

Hunter Regent Savoy Grosvenor Boots, $195. I LOVE my Hunter boots.  I live in them on snowy winter days and love them for those rainy spring and summer days, too.  They’re incredibly comfortable while giving your look some equestrian chic.  These are another pair that pair well with everything, from leggings and jeans to skater skirts and mini dresses.   Even better, invest in some Hunter socks for not only added warmth and protection, but for a fun statement to wear with those super fab wellies.

Chloe Suzanna Studded Leather Boots, $1,345. So these are definitely on my designer must have list.  I’ve loved the western trend that was on the F/W ’12 runways (Think Isabel Marant here) and these studded western-styled heels are absolutely perfect.  Obviously these aren’t going to help you too much if the snow is super high, but if there’s a “light dusting” you can rock these out in style.  Pair with some skinny jeans/trousers, try mixing it up by mixing with textured pants (jacquard, silk, corduroy), pair with a maxi skirt or dress, wear with cuffed boyfriend jeans, a fantastic t-shirt and a cashmere cardigan, pair with a pretty lace pencil skirt and a slim fit button down shirt – you can mix this shoe into a ton of looks.  May not keep your feet super warm (and it may be hard to wear thick socks with these), but your feet will look incredibly fabulous instead.  This style can be found in all price ranges.

Sam Edelman Faux Sheerling Platform Booties – Valentina, $225. For those times when only a heeled ankle bootie will do.  The shearling will keep your feet warm, the leather will keep them dry, and the style will take you anywhere.  Definitely great for nights out on the town with your significant other or your favorite girlfriends.  Also a great pair to rock around the office on those extra cold, wintery days.

Ugg Australia Women’s Brooks Tall Boot, $250. I’m not a huge fan of the traditional Uggs, but if you’re a die hard for those sheepskin lined boots why not try amping them up a little by adding some leather.  These boots will definitely add some sleekness to any of your looks without skimping out on comfort or warmth.  Plus, if you’ve ever had problems keeping your Uggs dry in the snow or rain (I know I have!) the leather bottom will help aid in that.  Pair with a pair of dark denim, a sheer blouse and a white tuxedo blazer for a fun and cozy twist on a night out look or rock with a comfortable sweater dress, some tights (or if you’re brave, you can bare leg it), and a military-style parka for a great casual look.

Nine West Throwdown Boots, $199; NOW: $59.99 (on sale). Such an amazing pair of leather heeled knee-highs.   Nothing gets better than a hint of metallic for a serious bold pop to any outfit and these are definitely no exception.  Three words: pair with everything.  And if you’re not digging the metallic look, this boot also comes in other colors (beware that there are limited sizes left in these styles).

Steve Madden Lewisvil Boots, $229.95; NOW: $137.98. I love me a good riding boot and these are definitely a pair that will help you out on a snowy day.  Zip these babies up to add some preppy chic to your cold weather wear.   And what’s really awesome is the biker detailing to give you a little more edge.  I mean honestly, who doesn’t love some spikes?

Juicy Couture Paige Boots, $275;  NOW: $192.99. I’ve always been a fan of the preppy duck boot and Juicy takes that classic look and chics it up with a heel and some fuax fur.  Perfect with a pencil skirt and your favorite winter jacket as it is with leggings and a sexy sheer belted tunic paired with loads of hardware (jewelry).  This is also definitely a shoe that you’ll wear every fall/winter since duck boots most likely aren’t going anywhere anytime soon.

Mod Cloth Off The Cuff Bootie, $79.99. This description is going to be short and sweet.  These are no nonsense, classic booties that will be a fantastic addition to any wardrobe.  Can be worn with anything, anywhere, anytime.

3:10 Boots, $293; NOW: $118. A simple, classic, leather, flat, knee-high boot.  Comes in a variety of colors and a great overall boot to wear snow, rain, or shine.  Great for the office, great for casual outings, another great for anything boot.  Pair with everything because these boots can go with anything.

Acne Boots, $1,290; NOW: $388. Ok, so if you’re a size 8 and have $388 of extra money to spend, then it’s your lucky day.  These boots are AMAZING and should not be passed up!  Wear these however you want.  My only advice here is to just wear them!  I also found these at SolesTruck.com  in three sizes (6, 8, & 10) but they aren’t on sale yet.  However, keep your eyes on these because I imagine they will be going on sale soon.

BOOTS: a major must for your cold weather wardrobe.  One piece of advice is to make sure you have a few pairs good for different occasions or invest in one style that you absolutely love and will (and can) wear with everything.  This way, you’ll always be prepared for those cold, snowy days.
