There’s nothing better than spring date nights – the beautiful weather, the gorgeous surroundings, and of course the amazing dresses that come with the season! Spring weather always makes me want to gussy it up a little more when it comes to my date attire and I’m more often than not in the mood for a sexy, flirty or colorful dress.
This season really brings it in terms of perfect dresses and here are 10 fantastic options for a night out with your beau.
Intermix Two Tone Double V Flare Ponte Dress, $250. This dress is fantastic for those dates where you have no idea where the night is going to go. It’s got some class, some funk, some sex appeal – it’s absolutely versatile for everything from a candle light dinner to mini golf to cover band concert. Pair it with some rockin’ python stacked heels, a graphic or neon clutch and top with a sheer blouse or jacket because you want to show off that surprise back (it’s all black in contrast to the white and black front) even when you’re keeping warm. Depending on your style you can add as much or as little hardware as you’d like, i.e. bangles, necklaces, rings, etc. etc., since this dress can handle just about anything.
NastyGal Top Form Dress, $42. Nothing like a body hugging, cut-out dress in a sexy cobalt blue to really get your date’s heart racing! Pair with some super sexy silver metallic sandals, a funky printed clutch, and some light chains or knuckle rings and you’ll be nothing short of a knock out! Layer a white tuxedo jacket over for when the night cools down and you’ve got the perfect date night look for downtown dinner and dancing.
Forever21 Billowy Layered Dress, $29.80. Looking for something sweet but super flirty? This flowing high-low hemmed dress is great for a perfect spring dinner on a hopping patio. This is also a great first date look, too – totally catches his eye by showing off your pins without being too sexy. Pair with a pretty floral printed jacket with a lot of mints and blues (and a hint of pink to pull it all together), some pretty nude strappy sandals, layered long gold chains and, a gold clutch and you’re ready for a fun, flirty evening with your date!
TBA Silky Printed Lydia Midi Dress, $277. This slyly sexy dress is great for hitting up that trendy martini bar or hot new restaurant. White is super in this season, but this dress adds a little flavor with the fun print in the middle. Urban styles it with a nude wedge on the site, and I say run with it. BUT that doesn’t mean you mean you can’t sass it up with a funky color or a crazy high, strappy sandal. I’m totally digging a suede cobalt blue no platform heel myself, but this dress can handle a lot of variety when it comes to your footwear. A long chain with or without a pendant and a simple long strap shoulder bag will make you the best dressed lady in the room.
Lulus Citrus Grove Coral Color Block Shift Dress, $40. A super cute, not so simple, simple shift dress perfect for a more casual date night with your hottie. This dress is easy to wear and you get a load of spring colors already colorblocked for you. All you need is a statement necklace, some white or blush pink flats/sandals, and your favorite clutch and you’ve got a great date night look that isn’t only sexy but comfortable, too.
Tibi Simona Dress, $440. You can never go wrong with an LBD – it always looks great, it goes with everything, and it’s super easy to style in a pinch. This incredibly detailed and structured version is sleek, sexy, and flirty and is great for date night on the town. Add some serious pops of color with bold, eye-catching neon or pastels, play up with some metallic, add some funky jewelry, or keep it simple – the perfect thing about the LBD is that it is the ideal pallet to be styled any way you want making it easy to get ready for that hot date of yours.
One Teaspoon by Dundee Dress, $140 Not into all the pastel-y spring colors and floral prints? Want something a little edgier? Then this is your dress. I’m totally in love with this light, croc print mini and it’s perfect for nights at your favorite bar for burgers and beers, or listening to your favorite local band with your beau (although, this dress and look can work anywhere so don’t just think it’s limited – I just happen to see myself in this on a night with my bf at our favorite dive). Pair with some metallic cap-toe heels or a great pair of spiked motorcycle boots, a sexy slouchy hobo bag and, if you’re feeling up to it, a (faux) leather vest. Layer on some serious arm candy and you’ve got one sexy, rock star look to take on the night.
Madewell Les Prairies De Paris Stripe Knit Dress, $314. This is the perfect dress for days when you can’t zip home after work to prep for date night. This totally Parisian-y, nautical striped dress is perfect to get you from day to night without an ounce of stress. For day, add a classic braided belt, a few colored bangles, and a great pair of acrylic side (I call them see through – example here) flats, and a smart boyfriend blazer (if you need one) and you’ve got one sleek office look. For night (bring a bag with your evening essentials with you to the office), swap out the belt for a black skinny belt, add a pair of bright red shoes, add some layered chains or stacked rings, swipe on a bold coral lip and you’ve got yourself a ready-in-a-flash date look.
ModCloth Here Comes the Sunglow Dress, $74.99. Nothing gets more spring-y than a yellow, a-line dress. Not only will the color make you glow, but you’ll catch your date’s eye with the sexy strap neckline and the corset-type detail at the waist. With this dress you need very minimal accessories (keep it to rings and bracelets because a necklace will just cover up that pretty neck detail), so let your bag and shoes pick up the slack and get funky with it. Try a cobalt blue, reddish violet, or bold orange to really add some punch. A simple black strappy sandal will also work. And try mixing and matching these colors when it comes to these accessories – try a cobalt blue platform sandal with an orange clutch. Or try a sexy high black cutout sandal with a pop of color in the clutch. Perfect for a night on a trendy patio or rooftop bar.
Acne Studios Jacey Fluid Ivory, $460. What I like to call the mullet of dresses – business in the front, serious party in the back. This stunning dress disguises itself as simple and sophisticated from the front but the instant you turn around you’ve got some super sex appeal. This dress gives you a little bit of everything with it being playful and sultry, which will make for a perfect date dress. Pair with everything from crazy gladiator sandals, skinny strap heeled sandal, or flats for a hot date look.
This is just a tiny taste of the amazing dresses for spring that will have your date’s eyes glued to you all night. Try something you haven’t tried before – buy a bold color, try an LWD over a LBD, experiment with prints – that’s what spring is all about!
