Introducing Kairos Acne Care For Clear Skin and Gorgeous Hair

I rarely dedicate entire posts to a single brand or product. If I do, it’s because the product is so innovative and incredible, it simply can’t be lumped in with anything else.

In this case, I’m talking about Kairos– the first ever hair care line designed to treat and prevent acne. Not only that, it leaves your hair smooth, shiny, and smelling delicious.

I was seriously skeptical when I first heard about this product, I mean, hair products to treat acne? But then I met with founders Catherine Parker and Doreen Campbell who have been treating acne patients for twenty years and pointed out the obvious fact that the skin is essentially one organ and the products used on the scalp can have a major effect on the face, chest, and back- all of which are susceptible to breakouts.

While that made a great deal of sense, my skepticism was far more deeply rooted. About a year ago, my skin inexplicably lashed out and I developed severe acne seemingly out of the blue. As a beauty editor, I had tons of resources at my disposal and I contacted every PR rep I knew and asked for the best acne treatments they had. Everything sounded amazing, but nothing worked. Not only that, my acne got worse and worse.

It was such an awful experience. I mean dating was out because I couldn’t even fathom the prospect of a guy getting close enough to see all the breakouts along my chin and jaw. And I struggled with a serious bout of insecurity during Fashion Week, not because I was seeing gorgeous models all day, but because I knew that even the best foundation and concealers couldn’t hide my bumpy face under the super bright lights. My friends, family, and even my trusted facialist were all shocked by my appearance (what happened, Sabrina? You used to have such gorgeous skin. What a shame!).

After trying every remedy I could think of to no avail I decided a new approach was in order. I went back on birth control and was put on a intense regimen from my dermatologist which consisted of antibiotics and about three different topical treatments. My dermatologist would clean out my very deep breakouts and write out some strong prescriptions but then I’d be back in her office a week later, freshly broken out as if I had never even seen her and out another $200. She kept tweaking my regimen and after about four to five months, I was in the clear, literally. My face looked amazing and I didn’t even need to wear makeup anymore.

I basked in the joys of gorgeous skin for a few months until, little by little, my old nemesis returned. I was beyond frustrated and really, really didn’t want to go back to the dermatologist for another round of treatments (between the money spent on visits and prescriptions I could have bought a pair of Louboutins!). I tried to fight it, but my acne just kept getting worse.

At the peak of my frustration, I got an invitation to meet with the founders of Kairos. After taking a look at my face, they assured me that their products would help. I obviously had some doubts, but I figured I’d give it a try. I kid you not, the day after I used the shampoo and conditioner, I noticed a severe reduction in the inflammation on my face. I didn’t use a single other hair product except for Kairos throughout the week and was awestruck by the progress my skin was making on a daily basis.

The skeptic in me figured this had to be a fluke so I cheated and used a different shampoo that I’d been wanting the try. The next day I woke up with a fresh bought of pimples! I switched back to Kairos and was again floored by how quickly those breakouts disappeared. (I wasn’t using any facial treatments at this time either.)

I’ve been using nothing but the Kairos products for about a month now and my acne is totally gone, all that’s left is a bit of scarring which, I know from experience, will fade in time.

In place of acne-aggravating oils that are found in to many hair-care products, Kairos uses natural oils that don’t clog pores. This also prevents oil build-up so you don’t have to shampoo as often which is ideal for someone like me with very oily-prone hair. In addition, several of the products are formulated with acne-fighting Salicylic Acid, which has been proven to clear, heal, and prevent the recurrence of blemishes. Don’t worry though, your hair will NOT smell like chemicals, the products contain a delicious blend of natural botanicals such as Lavender Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Tee Tree Oil, and Chamomile, for a soft, delicious scent.

I had planned on taking some before and after pictures but I honestly didn’t expect these products to work so quickly! However, you can head over to the Kairos website to see some amazing before and after shots.

Kairos has a whole range of products- shampoo, conditioner, gel, hairspray, finishing spray, hair glue, and an oil reducing treatment (prices range from $18-$28)- to meet all of your hair care needs. You can buy everything online at kairosclear.com.

If you’re suffering from breakouts or acne, my heart goes out to you in the most sincere way because I know how brutal it can be and how radically it can impact your self-esteem. I also strongly encourage you to give this line and I would love to hear about how the products worked for you. And if you’re brave enough, take some before and after shots!
