DIY Threading: A New Twist for at-Home Hair Removal

A few weeks ago, I was introduced to a new do-it-yourself hair removal system which changed my life. Now, I’m gonna tell you about it so it can change your lives as well!

I’m sure most of you have heard of threading, an age-old form of facial hair removal that has recently been gaining popularity and has long been considered an exclusive service provided by master technicians. Well those days are officially over thanks to the new Sun Maita Threader Kit- the first ever at-home threading system developed by liscensed aestheticians and makeup artists Anita Sun and Sara Maita.

Read on to find out more about this revolutionary new must-have!

The Threader was designed to replicate the exact angles that master threadists use to quickly and painlessly remove unwanted facial hair as well as dead surface skin cells. The system effectively rolls out all hairs at the follicle, from coarse, deep-rooted strands to soft “peach fuzz” that is impossible to get with tweezers and lasers.

According to co-founder Anita Sun: “Applying foundation or self tanner can get tricky when small peach fuzz gets in the way. Women often see a shadowing effect or slight discoloration which can be avoided by threading prior to their makeup or self tanner application.

As an avid fan of threading, I was super excited upon receiving this kit, but I was also a bit skeptical. Putting my doubts aside, I gave the Threader a try the second I got home from my meeting with the founders and was ecstatic to discover that it really is just as easy and impossible-to-mess-up as they claimed! I also noticed that without peach-fuzz, my skin was smoother and more radiant and makeup went on much more easily, literally melting right into my skin for a much lighter, more natural finish.

The entire kit retails for $150 at SunMaita.com and also includes Feel Less Lotion to slightly numb the skin, Chalk, to make hair more visible before threading, The Closer Lotion, to soothe and protect skin after threading, and replacement threads.

Give it a try and let us know what you think!

the thing with threading is it is not pratical for large parts of the body such as legs and bikini area. also, removing facial hair including brow/lip/chin can cause skin break outs. im not a fan of any at home hair removing. unless you have been trained and know what you are doing. this kind of stuff should be left to the pros.
