Beauty Review: Mascaras That MEAN It

I don’t think any gal will deny that you are never fully ready to face the world without a coat or two of mascara. It truly is amazing what a difference a few swipes of a wand can make!

There is nothing sexier than long, luscious lashes- they just give you this bright eyed, subtly sensuous look that is totally irresistible. There are countless mascaras out there that claim to be the end all be all when it comes to long, full lashes. Some work while others leave you with nothing but a big heap of disappointment. One of the best perks about being a beauty writer is I get the opportunity to test out tons of products to discover first hand which ones live up to the hype.

I don’t naturally have long, thick lashes but you would never know it because I’ve discovered which mascaras really mean it!

Read on for my top 5 favorites!

Givenchy Phenomen’Eyes Mascara, $28. There is a lot of hype surrounding this mascara and you should believe all of it! It may look scary, but it is super easy to use and will make yous lashes longer and more voluminous than you ever thought possible. The results are so amazing that most people won’t believe that you’re not wearing falsies!

theBalm Two-Timer Double Ended Mascara
, $20. This duel ended, smudge-proof mascara is absolutely genius! The ‘Lashalot’ end evenly distributes the product for full lashes without any clumps while the ‘finetune’ side defines and separates lashes making them appear longer.

CoverGirl LashBlast Luxe Volumizing Mascara, $7.99. This mascara is perfect for every day wear. Unlike most products you won’t look like you’re even wearing mascara, it will just looks like you have naturally amazing lashes! It also doesn’t clump or flake and it stays put all day, which is essential for busy gals on-the-go.

Smashbox Bionic Mascara, $19. This amazing mascara is another go-to when I want to create a more sultry lash look. The wand is designed to prevent clumping and to evenly distribute the product in just one sweep. It is also formulated to strengthen and condition for lashes that are longer and stronger than ever before. Apply one coat for day and then two for a high-drama nighttime look.

Rimmel London Sexy Curves Waterproof Mascara, $7.49. An amazing waterproof mascara is something no makeup drawer should be without. I have tried countless waterproof products but this one is the best when it comes to super full, voluminous lashes that will maintain their fabulous shape all day without leaving even the slightest smudge.

I am a huge fan of Mary Kay Ultimate Mascara – it really thickens and lengthens, but the best part is it doesn’t smudge. Like at all.

K.K.

I just bought the Givenchy mascara. It makes my lashes look fuller than anything I’ve used before. But if you’re not careful, poking yourself in the eye with the end feels like a cactus.
