I had forgotten how absolutely amazing facials are until I had the immense pleasure of receiving one compliments of Spa Week. All I had to do in exchange was write about it which was easy considering the phenomenal experience and results.
I got the Aqualia Signature facial at the Aqualia Spa in NYC- a 75 minute relaxing facial treatment with pressure point face massage (pressing specific points on the side of the face and sinuses to relieve tensions), massage to the face, neck and shoulders, extractions, customized skin mask, and moisturizer for a radiant glow. Since I was there, I also got the Derm Renewal Clinical Peel- a professional deep exfoliating treatment designed to promote skin renewal and moisturization (and it doesn’t sting or leave you looking like a tomato!).
I have had many facials in my day but never a pressure point massage which was absolutely incredible, instantly relaxing me in the deepest way. I also appreciated the fact that the facialist used instruments for the extractions, just like dermatologists use. This is way more effective and gets all the junk out without leaving scars. My skin is extremely sensitive so I was nervous that the treatment would leave me red-faced, splotchy, and covered in bumps (which has happened many times after facials), but this was far from the case. Instead, my skin was smooth and radiant and had a gorgeous glow, one which stayed intact for days! It’s been over a week since I got the treatment and my skin still looks clean and fresh and is still silky smooth.
This treatment was hands down one of the best I’ve ever gotten it reminded me that facials aren’t just a luxury, they’re a necessity.
